Kate in LA. Inspired by Los Angeles. Made in Texas. 

It's been a long time coming. Having lived in Los Angeles for twelve years, I never imagined leaving, but sometimes an unexpected turn of events leads us elsewhere. In my case, it brought me to Texas. My fondest memories are in L.A. though, because that's where I became a mama. I truly hope to move back there some day. 

I have been beading since I was young. One day, on a trip to the city with my mom, I came home with a small bag of iridescent beads. They were like jewels to me. Not sure how to begin, I found a needle, some thread and a small closure in my mother's sewing box. I made my first necklace and I was hooked.

My love of beads and gems evolved over the years. I guess it became official when I earned my Graduate Gemologist certification from GIA in 2001. This started me on a long and winding nineteen year career with Tiffany & Co. I've seen a lot of exceptional diamonds and pieces of jewelry throughout my tenure there. Ironically though, beading is my happy place and sometimes life comes full circle. So here I am chasing that dream.

Modern + minimalist. My aesthetic is influenced by the natural beauty and effortless style that characterizes Los Angeles. And so I'm bringing a bit of L.A. to you. A pop of color to brighten your day. Like sunshine in a bottle.
